Welcome to our First Edition newsletter for the 2009 season.

Our first meeting kicked off at Toro’s Braeside Branch in Melbourne.  Evan Goulis’s National Service Manager started the introductions for the day.

The first session was linked via a live web conference to the USA, Greg Janey the Senior Product Manager who hosted the web conference.  Greg covered a large topic of mechanical problems, after cut appearances and agronomics that can affect the turf quality and issues.

Our next introduction was Matthew Rees from Alco Batteries.  Alco Batteries service a large portion in the Turf Industry.  Matthew covered all aspects of battery maintenance procedures testing that is required for prolonged battery life.  A very good presentation was heard by all.

Our final presentation was delivered by Shaun Devlin, Spare Parts Manger.  The group had an open discussion on any problems, spare parts issues and service bulletins.

There was a good attendance on the day.  Another great lunch provided and thanks to Toro for sponsoring the day.

We are still looking for volunteers to write an article for The Australian Turf Grass Journal.  Please contact one of the Committee members if you can submit and article.  The website is still going well.

We need photos, articles or access the website for some forum chats. Any information regarding the website can contact Luke Spartalis at:

 luke@vteta.info

Our next meeting will be held at Glenmac Sales & Service on the Tuesday 23rd June 2009, 14 Rushdale Street, Knoxfield  Vic  3180.

For catering purposes could all members advise whether they are attending.  The RSVP date is the 12th June, 2009.  Look forward to seeing you all on the day.

 Regards

Tony Hopcraft
