Welcome to our second meeting of the 2008 season.   Under very cold and foggy conditions the second meeting for our calendar year was held at AG Power at Lilydale.   After a much needed hot coffee the day started with the introduction by Ralph Hymus and Grant Storey about AG Powers background.   Following this we had a facility tour. Bill Stevens - National Territory Manager for Jacobson gave us an insight to the new products availability in the turf industry.   Bill had on display mowers so the group could have a good look at them and have some question time also.   Following this Ray Grech – Technical Support gave the group a wonderful presentation about the new modifications on various machines that have been updated.   After a powerpoint presentation we headed out to the workshop to do some hands on training which the group did some hydraulic testing on various machines.   Other testing during our hands on session included fault diagnosis on electrical controllers. The group got some very valuable information out of the hands on sessions thanks to Ray.   Our last presentation was by Justin Poole from Polaris ATV’s and utility vehicles. Just gave the group an insight to the Polaris product range available to the turf market.   We had a lot of fun with Justin asking the group questions. After lunch we then moved into our general meeting that concluded the day. Many thanks to Ag Power and all the staff for a great day.   Members can keep up-to-date on our website www.vteta.info/index.html. The Australian Turfgrass Conference is just 6 weeks away, so we hope to see as many members and technicians there, as it promises to have a great mechanics stream.  Information regarding the conference can be accessed via our website on the AGCSA site. The VTETA also has contacts, they are:   lindsay@vteta tony@vteta greg@vteta john@vteta luke@vteta   For registration details contact AGCSA on (03) 9548-8600.   Hope everybody has a great conference.   Regards     Tony Hopcraft VTETA – President The Flinders Golf Club
