History of VTETA

In May 1993, the NSW technicians association was formed  followed by the Queensland Technicians association in March 1994.

As a natural progression, a National Association was formed in Melbourne at the July seminar in 1996.

Due to the overwhelming response from the Victorian delegates, a decision was reached to progress with a Victorian association.

In September 1996, Lindsay Tomlinson, then of Woodlands Golf Club, drafted an invitation for fellow technicians to attend an information night to discuss the formation of a Victorian association.

The meeting was held on Wednesday the 16th of September at the Woodlands Golf Club, and was an open invitation to attend for all who work with, or have an interest in turf equipment.

The meeting was attended by 20 members, and the decision was made to proceed.

The Victorian Turf Equipment Technicians Association was incorporated in 2000 and the membership has risen steadily over the years from the original 20 to today’s 70 members.
